March 13th is K9 Veterans’ Day, honoring all military, police and service dogs who have served honorably, sometimes losing their lives to protect others. In their honor, please read and honor the many ways these dogs have served their country.

Guide dogs have been used for decades to give individuals with vision problems true independence. Today The Seeing Eye, the oldest and one of the most successful guide dog programs in the world, is based in New Jersey on a 60 acre campus. The organization teaches dogs to become guides and trains their owners on how to work closely with their guide dogs for success.
